Jetina Gear has a method to 100% guarantee enhancement via obtaining “Reform Levels” with Replendent Reform Stones.

Guaranteed PEN Boss Gear Facts:

• Awakening Weapon (Sol) for Shai is excluded.
• Accessories are excluded, but 2 PEN Accessories are available via a different Jetina PEN Accessory system.
• Can not enhance with the old RNG method. Caphras can be used after PEN level is reached.
• Jetina Boss Gear can’t be sold on the marketplace, unless you Caphras it to level 10 and upgrade it to Slumbering Origin Armor: Fallen God’s Armor, Dahn’s Gloves, Ator’s Shoes, or Labreska’s Helmet.

• Before exchanging your gear:
  • place gear in your inventory (so it is not equipped)

Upgrading Jetina Gear to PEN

Jetina’s TET Boss Gear can be upgraded to PEN by using 5 different Resplendent Reform Stones.

Making these Reform Stones is inexpensive at first, but increases in time/silver cost each level.

Boss Crystal Time Cost:

An important material used in creating Resplendent Reform Stones is obtained by a weekly quest from Jetina.

This weekly quest requires you to turn in 2 Latent Boss Aura for 155 Concentrated Boss Crystal.

Rare Materials Time Cost:

Another important time cost may be attaining enough Magical Shardsand other rare drops.

These items are obtained mainly via grinding spot drops starting in Valencia.

Reform Stone I Recipe

Processing (L) → Heating:

• 1x Green Crystal: Processing (L) → Heating: Rough Green Crystals obtained via mining or worker nodes.
• 20x Magical Shard: Processing (L) → Heating: yellow grade or Sealed Black Magic Crystal obtained via monster zones.
• 60x Concentrated Boss Crystal: weekly quest costs 2 Latent Boss Aura
• 50x Memory Fragment – defeat bosses from Ancient Relic Crystal Shardobtained via monster zones and fishing.
• 10x Concentrated Magical Black Stone: Processing (L) → Heating: Sharp Black Crystal Shard + Black Stone

Result Depends on the Gem vs Crystal Used:

• Resplendent Boss Armor Reform Stone I → use a tier 1 unprocessed “Rough” gem.
• Resplendent Boss Weapon Reform Stone I → use a processed “Rough” crystal that has been heated to tier 2.

The recipe is the same for all gear, except the crystal/gem changes depending on the stone and stone level you are crafting. Weapons require the processed version of a “Rough” crystal.

Pick up the remaining 50 Concentrated Boss Crystal from looting a defeated boss or completing another weekly exchange.

• Each weekly quest rewards 155 Concentrated Boss Crystal.
• Concentrated Boss Crystal quests are limited to one per family per week.
• Quest resets every Thursday at midnight.
• Concentrated Boss Crystal quests are shared with all characters. (You can pick it up with one character, switch to an Alt to exchange the Latent Aura, then switch back to the first character to finish the quest and obtain the Concentrated Boss Crystals.)

PEN Boss Materials from Dark Rifts

Solo bosses, called Dark Rifts, reward several materials needed to obtain PEN level.

• 2 to 6 Memory Fragments.
• 1 to 2 Concentrated Boss Crystal
• 1 to 2 Latent Boss Aura
• 8 to 24 Black Stones

Although the Memory Fragment amount is small, Dark Rifts are still worthwhile to do because of the other loot you obtain from doing them.

Magical Shard

200 Magical Shard are needed for each gear piece to get Reform level 4. (Magical Shards are not needed for Reform level 5.)

Magical Shards are obtained primarily via Processing (L) ➔ Heating Sealed Black Magic Crystal or certain yellow-grade Black Magic Crystal.

Sealed Black Magic Crystals are a rare drop from grinding spots. Some are better locations than others.

You can also obtain them in Imperial Alchemy and other ways.

Magical Shard Recipe:

Processing (L) ➔ Heating Sealed Black Magic Crystal or certain yellow-grade Black Magic Crystal.

• Most of the time you get 1 Magical Shard for each Sealed Black Magic Crystal you melt.
• Sometimes you get 2 Magical Shards. Ratio seems to be 1 out of every 10 processed. (Master 3 Processing)

Since Sealed Black Magic Crystal is a rare drop, don’t forget to buff Item Drop Rate. For example, use an Item Collection Increase Scroll.

Centaurus Herd (Lower AP)

Centaurus Herd is one of the best grinding spots for Magical Shard for those with around 180 AP because it has an above average drop rate for Sealed Black Magic Crystals, which you can melt for Magical Shards. But it also has other desirable traits.

• Yona’s Fragments: 9 / hour (3 Yona’s + 1 Centaurus Belt)
• Scroll Written in Ancient Language: 16 / hour
• Black Stone: 84 / hour

Unfortunately, Centaurus Herd does not drop Atanis Element, the pity drop for Infinite Pots. However, it makes up for this by having other decent drops and good silver per hour for its difficulty level.

You obtain these primarily by doing boss scrolls.

Cadry Ruins (Lower AP)

Cadry Ruins is a good grinding spot to obtain Memory Fragments for players with around 140 AP because it has a higher drop rate for Scroll Written in Ancient Language. But it also has other desirable traits.

TIP: Aakman Temple is very similar to Hystria Ruins in available loot and difficulty and is also an excellent grinding spot for Memory Fragments.

Black Stone via Grinding Spots

Grinding spots are a good way to obtain Black Stones. Starting in Valencia, you can obtain about 180 per hour in certain locations.

Since Black Stone is a rare drop, don’t forget to use your Item Drop Rate Items.

Desert Naga Temple (Low AP)

Desert Naga Temple has a good drop rate for Black Stones. But it also has other desirable traits.

• Yona’s Fragments: 12 / hour (4 Yona’s + 2 Serap’s Necklaces)
• Atanis Element: 4 / hour
• Sealed Black Magic Crystal: 8 / hour
• Black Stone: 182 / hour

Desert Naga Temple also gives Atanis Element, the pity drop for Infinite Pots.

It’s one of the best places to grind for Black Stone, given its difficulty level.

You will also get a good supply of Sealed Black Magic Crystal, which can be melted to make Magical Shards.

Time Cost

Guaranteed PEN Boss Gear is not meant to be quickly obtained in a week. (Although this may be possible via server hopping Field Boss spawns.)

Boss Crystals:
160/week (155 with weekly quest + 5 from boss drop)

1 Gear Piece:

• 1 Week: Reform Level 2
• 2 Weeks: Reform Level 4
• 3 Weeks: PEN Level

You can obtain 1 Guaranteed Pen Boss Gear every 3 weeks from the weekly quest.

At this rate, a full set of gear (7 slots) can be obtained in about 5 months. (147 days)

Boss Crystals via Boss Loot

Potentially, you could speed up the 3 week time by fighting bosses. You usually get 5 crystals per nightmare boss (aka empowered insta-death boss). You can get even more from the field bosses Dim Tree Spirit, Red Nose, and Dastard Bheg.

Karanda Example:

Karanda is a world boss spawn occurring 12 times in one week. Spawn times here.

In one to two weeks, you might get enough Boss Crystals to make an extra level 1 to 4 Reform Stone. (12 nightmare kills * 5 = 60 Crystals)

But look at some of those spawn times… Ummm sleep much anyone? Ha! No sleep for Karanda, means no sleep for good-doers like you either! 🙂

Note to Self: sleep is good. Uninterrupted sleep is even better!

Field Boss Discord Trains:

You get 6-15 Concentrated Boss Crystals and 1-3 Latent Boss Aura from Dim Tree Spirit, Red Nose, and Dastard Bheg. These Field Bosses spawn separately on each server, so they don’t share HP like world bosses do. This enables you to hop from server to server in order to hopefully find and kill more field bosses. You can perfect this strategy with the help of Boss Discord.

If you are lucky and take part in the Discord Field Boss train, you can kill 12 Field Bosses in about one hour.

You will need 30 Contained Boss Aura to create the final PEN Reform Stone.

Obtain this by using Processing (L) → Simple Alchemy on certain boss gear.

• Best Offense: Bheg’s Gloves is the only gear piece that offers any Accuracy, however it gives the worst DP.

Can I Change the Boss Gear?

You can change the boss gear type for each slot once per family. For example, exchange a Nouver for Kutum.

The gear has to be base, which means you haven’t inserted a Reform Stone yet.

You exchange the gear at Yisar Pjetyo <Alchemist> located in Tarif, Mediah Territory.

He will have 7 quests total, one per gear slot. So you can change your mind once per gear slot.

Example Sub Weapon Change:

• Nouver to Kutum sub-weapons exchange has a corresponding quest called “[1 Exchange per Family] Old Moon’s Resplendent Sub-weapon”

Also note that you can use a Weapon Exchange Coupon from the Pearl Shop after the weapons reach PEN level, in order to change their class.

100% Chance PEN Gear:

This gear has also been called “Free PEN Boss Gear”, “Reformed Boss Gear”, “Resplendent Boss Gear”, and “Untradeable Boss Gear” although it retains the traditional boss gear names. It has the stats of normal boss gear, with the same names, but has a “Reform Level” not seen on normal boss gear. This is because it requires a completely different method of reaching PEN.
