That vehicle was followed onto the forecourt of a Texaco petrol station in Dudley Port, Tipton.

But it was attacked by thugs armed with baseball bats and the man was stabbed in the leg.

Claims of '10 against 1'

The worker at the Texaco station has told me more about what happened.

I got told it was a gang of 10 men who were chasing three men.

Two of the men they were chasing managed to get away, and the gang of 10 then set about the one guy who was left.

He was being attacked with knives and maybe a machete.

Police then came along and an ambulance was called.

This is what we know so far

Good morning. Armed police were on the streets of the Midlands last night as the latest incident in a surge of violent crime left two locations sealed off.

Cordons were in place on two sides of Dudley Port in Tipton.

One appeared to take in a house and restaurant and the other, directly opposite, covered a Texaco petrol station, Morrisons Daily and Subway stores.

A car was inside the cordon outside the filling station and shops.

We don’t know what happened yet but pictures from the scene appeared to show blood.

We’ve not yet heard back from West Midlands Police.
