Accommodations
Can students receive the same accommodation for their OnRamps college course as they do for their high school course?
If students receive high-school accommodations related to a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, they may also receive certain accommodations in their OnRamps course. Accommodations in an OnRamps course must follow accommodations in their Individual Education Plan or 504 Individual Accommodation Plan and be allowable under the university assessment practices. Accommodations are individualized and based on need and disability.
How do students request an accommodation for their college course?
Students can request an eligible IDEA, 504, or ADA accommodation for their OnRamps course during registration, or at any time by clicking the Additional Information button on the Current Enrollments web page.
Students are strongly encouraged to provide information immediately following changes to their Individual Education Plan or 504. Students must inform the university Instructor of Record before the due date of an assignment to access accommodations for that assignment.
Grades & Credit Type
What is final grade?
Final grade refers to the final letter grade that students earned in the college course. It is displayed on the Current Enrollments web page.
If students earn a final grade of D- or above, they will have the option to accept or decline their credit.
Only final grades for earned and accepted college credit will be recorded on the university transcript.
What is credit type?
Credit type refers to the type of college credit that eligible students may earn in an OnRamps course, such as pass/fail or letter grade. OnRamps students may only earn credit with a letter grade credit type.
This means that the letter grade students earn in the college course (A, B-, C+, etc.) will appear on their university transcript if they accept college credit at the end of the course.
Credit Decision & Transcripts
What is credit decision?
Credit decision is when students determine whether they will accept or decline college credit, if earned. Students who do not earn credit will not make a credit decision.
If students accept credit, the course will appear on the university transcript. If students decline credit, the course will not appear on the university transcript.
When do students accept or decline their college credit?
Students will accept or decline credit during the credit decision period at the end of their course. The credit decision period is a five-day window that occurs the Monday – Friday after they receive their final college grade.
Students will receive an email when their final grade is available in the OnRamps Portal and their credit decision period begins. Emails are sent on a rolling basis as grades are processed, so not all students are notified at the same time.
If students are enrolled in multiple OnRamps courses, their courses may have different credit decision periods.
How do students accept or decline college credit?
Students accept or decline credit in the OnRamps Portal. When their credit decision period is open, they will see an Accept/Decline Credit button next to their course enrollment on the Current Enrollments webpage. They will click the button to make their credit decision.
What happens if students do not take action to accept or decline credit?
If students do not make a credit decision in the OnRamps Portal, their credit will be automatically accepted or declined based on their final grade, as shown below.

Can students change their selection after their credit decision period ends?
Students must decide to accept or decline their credit during the credit decision period for the course. If they do not change their credit status during the credit decision period, OnRamps will use the credit status that is automatically assigned based on their final college grade. Except in rare circ*mstances, students cannot change their credit status after the end of the credit decision period.
Where can students find resources to help make informed credit decisions?
Students can find credit decision resources in their Canvas college course and transferability information on the webpage. OnRamps Instructors have access to credit decision resources in Instructor HQ and can share these resources with students. Additionally, students should consult the admissions office of any university they may attend to understand their transfer credit policies. Students are also encouraged to speak with high school academic counselors, college admission advisors, guardians, or parents for assistance.

How do students provide enrollment certification or non-attendance verification to another institution?
If students need a document from OnRamps to verify enrollment or non-attendance, they may complete the OnRamps Letter Request Form.
Eligibility
What is eligibility?
Prior to the 2024-25 academic year, OnRamps implemented Eligibility.
Eligibility referred to whether students met the criteria to be eligible for an opportunity to earn college credit. There were two eligibility statuses: eligible and ineligible.
Students were eligible for the opportunity to earn college credit and accept or decline credit at the end of their course if they met grade-based standards on their college coursework. The minimum grade for eligibility was a D-.
If students did not meet grade-based standards or other eligibility requirements, their eligibility status was ineligible, and they were unable to earn college credit in the course. In some courses, if students did not meet grade-based standards, they could still meet eligibility through the Texas Success Initiative (TSI).
