was born in Pratt, Kansas, on July 28, 1905. He attended Southwestern College in Win-field, Kansas, Kansas State and the University of Kansas. He spent all of his working life in the transportation business, retiring in 1967 from the Pipe Line Technologists (now Kaneb Services) in Houston. In 1929 he married Marie Wilson in Kansas City. They had one son, James of Austin.

They lived in Kansa City, Salina, Hutchinson, Topeka and McPherson, Kansas. They moved to Houston in 1952. They traveled extensively in the U.S. and Canada, and made one trip to Europe. Marie died in 1975.

In 1976 he married Violet Lucille Loeneke in Houston. They moved to Austin in 1980 and into Westminster Manor in 1983. Lucille preceded him in death in August of 1993. Roy was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin and a life member of Lodge No. 151, B.P.O.

Elks in Houston. He was active in the Houston Lodge for many years, chairing many committees and was Treasurer in 1977, '78 and '79. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 17, 1995, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Harris Bell Hall of Westminster Manor; He is survived by his son, Jim Beeman of Austin; grandson, Bart Beeman of San Mateo, California; and a much enjoyed sister, Frances Abbott of Pratt, Kansas; and Lucille's beloved niece, Jane Preston-Dobbs, M.D., and her children, H. Allen Dobbs III, M.D., -Ann Dobbs, David Dobbs, Sarah Dobbs Kerrigan, Cynthia Dobbs and the affectionate and loyal Lynn Preston Fountain, of whom he was especially fond.

In particular, the family expresses grateful appreciation to Dr. John Marietta and to all those at Westminster Manor and the Health Care Center, who tenderly cared for him. He will always be cherished by all for his outstanding humor, most generous goodwill and ever helpful spirit. Lamar. Islands in 1944. Upon his return to Austin, he continued to work as a carpenter building many homes, churches and businesses until his retirement from the carpenters union in 1975. Clifton helped build Southside Church of Christ. A solid Christian gentleman, he taught Sunday school, led congregational songs, was a deacon for 35 years and then served as Church Elder until 1991.

Clifton and Annis became members, and he became an elder of Capital City Church of Christ. Clifton worked until 1994 at small carpentry jobs and provided many Austin-ites with handmade wooden bookcases. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marian Annis; son, Bill; daughter, Sue Ann (Suzy) McWilliams and her husband, Ed; daughter-in-law, Rena M. Dye; grandson, Will Dye; granddaughters, Dagny Schmidt and her husband, Leeman, and Lynn Downing; great-granddaughter, Reagan Schmidt. Also survived by brother, Kenneth Dye of Electra, Texas; and sister, Maudine Shelton of Austin.

Dorothy Spruill Edmundson Mrs. Dorothy Spruill Edmundson. age 88, of Austin, died Friday, April 14, 1995. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she had been employed for 15 years before her retirement in 1971. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray R.

Edmundson in 1981. Survivors include her brother-in-law, John Winter of Memphis, Tennessee, and two nieces. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Grenada, Mississippi. Hollan Kenneth J. Hollan, 54, of Austin, died Saturday, April 15, 1995. Mr. Hollan was an amateur radio operator known around the world as K5IQ; He worked as a D.J. at KULM-FM in Columbus, Texas.

He is "survived by his wife, Holly Hollan of Austin; eight Scottish Border Collies; sisters, Dorothy Dove, Julia Lightfoot; brother, James T. Hollan. Memorial service arrangements are pending. Arrangements by Cook-Walden, 892-1172. Ollie Allie Kirklin Ollie Allie Kirklin, 89, of Austin died Friday, April 14, 1995. She was born June 19, 1905, to Will Cross Allen and Lou Ella Haygood Allen. She grew up around Lorena, Texas, and graduated from Lorena High School. The majority of her adult life was spent in Waco and Houston, Texas.

She was the Office Manager for River Oaks Food Store in Houston for many years. For the past three and a half years, Mrs. Kirkland resided at Heartland Health Care Center in Austin, where she made many friends. Survivors include sister, Velma Thedford of Waco; nephew, Ronald B. Thedford of Corpus Christi; nieces, Marian Latchford of Round Rock, Diane Collins of Austin, Edith Hobbs of Decatur-, Alabama, Doris Johnson of Oakwood, Jennine Seale of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Joyce Wilshire of Tyler; grandchildren, Julia and Philip Wilshire of Tyler; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James M. Kirkland, in 1994. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM, Monday at the Cook-WaldenChapel of the Hills Funeral Home, Austin, with Reverend Bob Grimes officiating. Interment will be at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco.

She was an avid "42" player where she played at the Widowed Persons, Senior Activity Center, Highland Park Baptist Church, Crestview United Methodist Church, with neighbors and anyone who would play She also was a memeber of Saengerrunde and loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Elroy Richter and by her husband of six years, Herbert Taylor. Survivors include her daughter, Marti Speed and husband, Jack; granddaughter, Pamela J. Law and fiance, Matthew Rayson; sisters, Estelle Lewis and Delta Matthews, all of Austin.

Alfredo V. Moreno age 86, of Austin, passed away Saturday morning, April 15, 1995, in a local hospital. Mr. Moreno was born May 3, 1908, in the village of Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, Mexico. In 1920, at the age of 12, he migrated to Texas and settled in the outskirts of Austin.

His first job in the United States was as a sharecropper. For 18 years he labored in' the fields. It was during this time he met, and married, his only wife for the past 67 years, Agnes Vega. The next 37 years Alfredo spent developing his skills as a brickmason. During this time he prospered and, in 1938, bought a tract of land in South Austin adjacent to the Faulk house, the present site of Green Pastures Restaurant.

The remaining 15 years of his total 70 years of employment were devoted to the City of Austin as a school crossing guard assigned to St. Ignatius School. Mr. Moreno was also a founding member and participated in the construction of the first San Jose Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beatrice Moreno and great-grandsons, Michael Daniel Esquivel and Nicholas Nunez.

Mr. Moreno is survived by his loving wife, Agnes Moreno; four sons, Refugio Moreno and daughter-in-law Irene, Alfred Moreno Jr. and daughter-in-law Rosalie, Robert Moreno of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and daughter-in-law Abigail, and Jimmy Moreno and daughter-in-law Olga; four daughters, Carmen Zavala and son-in-law Edmundo, Dolores Garza and son-in-law, Louis, Estela Casas and son-in-law Israel, Gloria Luna of Houston, Texas, and son-in-law Sam. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and five great-greatgrandchildren. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 17, 1995, at San Jose Catholic Church.

Lewis April 29, 1930 -April 11, 1995 Squire Charles Lewis was born in Laurel, New Jersey; he raised himself from age 13, following the deaths of his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Cristin and his brothers, Philemon of Sheffield Lake, Ohio and William of Ponte Verde Beach, Florida. Through the span of his extraordinary life, Squire worked as a laborer, carpenter, stone mason, Fuller Brush-man, sheep herder, Irish Wolfhound breeder, IBM tabulating machine operator, steel miU grinder and photographer. He participated in the construction of locks, dams and bridges on the Ohio, Mississippi, Saint Lawrence, Detroit, Arkansas and other rivers.

He managed a real estate office, consulted on the construction of IH-35's upper deck through Austin, was a volunteer fireman, and served six years as a Justice of the Peace (hence the title, During his epic summer of 1966, Squire discovered both Mexico and Texas, decided to spend the rest of his life in Austin, and entered the University of Texas as its only 37 year old freshman Anthropology major. Starting as a street vendor, he developed the Charles Lewis Company, which became world famous in pioneering the importation of Mexican folk art and weavings. Among his clients were museums, universities, governments and preservation societies around the world, and all the original primitive Mexican folk artists were his friends. Squire was a loving father to his daughter, Cristin, and the best ex-husband he could be to Mary Lou, Nancy and Sheryll. He was a gracious friend, always willing to share his wine, his time and his stories.

Squire had a special affinity for cavers and never met a campfire he didn't like. Now it's time to put out the embers and scatter the ashes; el famoso don Carlos de Oaxaca Austin is dead. Mr. Lockhart was a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown and Perkins School of Theology in Dallas. He was born in Luling, Texas, July 22, 1910, into a family with 15 brothers and sisters. They moved to Austin July 5. 1931. He was a carpenter and a lifetime member of the Carpenters Union Local 1266. On Sunday.

February 26, 1933, he married Marian Annis Cloer. Clifton's father owned a small homestead near the junction of Kinney Avenue and Barton Springs Road. That spring, he built a small home on the Dye family homestead in Pecan Grove, Barton Springs Road, just up the hill off Kinney Avenue. Jessie and Josephine Streets were named after his mother and grandmother. Clifton and Annis" new home washed downriver in the flood of June 15.

1935. The house was salvaged and moved to 1906 Kinney Avenue where his daughter, Sue Ann (Suzy) resides today. In 1935, he built a second larger home on the same property (1908 Kinney) and remodeled the smaller house as a home for his wife's parents. In 1939 and into the early 1940's he worked as a carpenter to build Tom Miller Dam. Marshal Ford Dam, Monto-polis and Shoal Creek Bridges.

Cop peras Immanuel Lutheran hi Now you don' Earlene Fulmer Earlene Fulmer. age 56, of Austin, died Monday, April 10, 1995. Mrs. Fulmer was a graduate of Texas Tech University, receiving a B.S. degree in Nutrition.

She worked at the V.A. Hospital in Houston as a nutritionist and later became the Public Heath Nutritionist for the City of Houston. Her expertise in public nutrition resulted in her appointment in 1969 to the Governor's Committee for Nutrition in Texas. A resident of Austin since 1970, Mrs. Fulmer was formerly a member of Grace Covenant Church.

At the time of her death, she was a member of the Adult III Sunday School Class at Hyde Park Baptist Church. The family expresses their deep appreciation to the many people who have offered their prayers and assistance during Mrs. Fulmer's illness. Mrs. Fulmer was a loving, caring person who was dedicated to her family, as well as her friends.

She had tremendous interest and concern for all she met. She sought out the needs of others and attempted to meet them. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Robert I. Fulmer; sons, Dr.
